Ketron PEEK
The Ketron PEEK family of materials is based on polyetheretherketone resin. This advanced semicrystalline material has a unique combination of high mechanical properties, high temperature resistance and excellent chemical resistance, making it the best-known of the advanced plastic materials.
Main features
- Very high maximum permissible operating temperature in air [250°C continuously, up to 310°C for short periods].
- High mechanical strength, rigidity and creep resistance, even at elevated temperatures
- Excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance
- Very good dimensional stability
- Excellent wear and friction characteristics
- Low intrinsic flammability and very low levels of smoke development during combustion
- Excellent resistance to high-energy radiation [rayons gamma et rayons X]
- Good electrical and dielectric insulation properties
Applications
Ketron PEEK is often used to replace PTFE when greater mechanical load capacity is required or when superior wear resistance is needed. Ketron PEEK is generally selected as a replacement for metal components, pump components, valve seats, bearings, rollers, gears, high temperature insulators, parts exposed to boiling water or steam are examples of components manufactured from PEEK grades.
