PA6G High Performance Technical Polyamides

PA6, PA66 and PA6G polyamides are technical materials widely used for their excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance and durability. Each of these polyamides has specific characteristics that make them suitable for a variety of industrial applications.

Main features

PA6 (Polyamide 6)

  • Operating temperature: Maximum operating temperature of approx. 100 °C to 120 °C in
    continuous
  • Mechanical resistance: Good mechanical resistance and toughness.
  • Wear and abrasion resistance: Very good abrasion resistance.
  • Moisture absorption: Relatively high moisture absorption rate, which can affect dimensions and mechanical properties.
  • Dielectric properties: Good electrical and insulating properties.
  • Ease of processing: Good suitability for injection moulding and extrusion.

PA66 (Polyamide 66)

  • Operating temperature: Maximum operating temperature of approx. 120°C to 150°C continuously.
  • Mechanical resistance: Excellent tensile strength and higher stiffness than PA6.
  • Abrasion and friction resistance: Excellent abrasion and friction resistance.
  • Moisture absorption: Lower than PA6, but still significant.
  • Dielectric properties: Very good electrical and insulating properties.
  • Dimensional stability: Better dimensional stability than PA6 due to lower moisture absorption.

PA6G (Polyamide 6 Cast)

  • Operating temperature: Maximum operating temperature of approx. 100°C to 120°C continuously.
  • Mechanical resistance: Very high mechanical resistance and toughness, comparable to PA66.
  • Manufacturing process: Manufactured by casting, which makes it possible to produce larger, thicker parts with greater fatigue resistance.
  • Moisture absorption: Moisture absorption rate similar to that of PA6.
  • Dielectric properties: Good electrical and insulating properties.
  • Wear resistance: Excellent resistance to wear and abrasion.

Applications

PA6, PA66 and PA6G polyamides are used in a wide range of industries thanks to their mechanical properties and versatility.

  • Mechanical components: Gears, bearings and machine parts requiring high strength and durability.
  • Automotive industry: Engine parts, crankcases, connectors and components requiring resistance to heat and wear.
  • Electrical industry: Insulators, housings and components requiring dielectric properties.
  • Consumer goods: Products requiring good resistance to wear and increased durability.
